Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: «Nadie puede estar al servicio de dos señores, pues odiará a uno y amará al otro o apreciará a uno y despreciará al otro. No podéis estar al servicio de Dios y del dinero. Por eso os digo: no estéis agobiados por vuestra vida pensando qué vais a comer, ni por vuestro cuerpo pensando con qué os vais a vestir. ¿No vale más la vida que el alimento, y el cuerpo que el vestido? Mirad los pájaros del cielo: no siembran ni cosechan ni recogen en graneros, y sin embargo, vuestro Padre del cielo los alimenta. ¿No valéis vosotros más que ellos? ¿Quién de vosotros puede, por mucho que se inquiete, prolongar un poco su vida? ¿Por qué os angustiáis por el vestido? Mirad cómo crecen los lirios silvestres, sin trabajar ni hilar. Y os aseguro que ni Salomón, con todo su fasto, se vistió como uno de ellos. Pues si a la hierba del campo, que hoy crece y mañana la echan al horno, Dios la viste así, ¿no os vestirá mejor a vosotros, hombres de poca fe? En conclusión, no os angustiéis pensando: ‘¿qué comeremos?, ¿qué beberemos?, ¿con qué nos vestiremos?’ Todo eso buscan ansiosamente los paganos. Pero vuestro Padre del cielo sabe que tenéis necesidad de todo aquello. Buscad, ante todo el reinado de Dios y su justicia, y lo demás os lo darán por añadidura. Así pues, no os preocupéis del mañana, que el mañana se ocupará de sí. A cada día le basta su problema».

en lo escondido,
se pelean
las batallas
más encarnizadas.
Contra el espejo interior,
que me reprocha
sueños imposibles,
afectos de piedra,
proyectos sin fecha.
Contra el mundo,
que tantas veces
me descoloca,
exige de más
o de menos,
me provoca o seduce,
me envuelve y aturde.
Contra ti,
Señor de lo escondido,
palabra callada,
promesa sin hora,
presencia velada,
distante cercanía
que tan pronto brillas
como te me ocultas.
En el silencio,
en lo escondido,
peleamos tú y yo.
A brazo partido,
a puro misterio,
a corazón abierto.
Toda la vida es
este combate.
